Collection: Piperaceae (True <tc>pepper</tc>)

The real one peppers grow on the pepperplant, a climbing plant. To make the plant easier to harvest, the height is limited, except for the peppers in the wild, such as the black pepper from Wayanad, the Banasurapepper, and the peppers from the Madagascar rainforest, called voatsiperifery. The fruits grow in clusters, on ears, and are stalked (the so-called tailpeppers) or not, and have in common the pungent substance piperine, named after the family name of the real peppers, Piperaceae.
