Collection: Africa

Africa is a major spice continent, even in the time of the Egyptian pharaohs. In the Middle Ages, African spices like grains of paradise and selim pepper were widely used seasonings at European courts. One of the most important spice-producing countries is Madagascar, where vanilla, true cinnamon, and voatsiperifery are grown. We sell the latter, both black, red, and white. A rising star is Cameroon, where the prestigious Penja pepper has been cultivated for several decades.

We offer the best of the continent, including three African descendants of the cardamom family: paradise grain (aframomum meleguetta), mbongo (aframomum citratum) and kororima (aframom corrorima).
