Africa is an important spice continent. It already was during the time of the Egyptian pharaohs. In the Middle Ages, African spices were as grains of paradise and selim pepper widely used flavorings at European courts. One of the most important spice-producing countries is Madagascar, where vanilla, true cinnamon, and Voatsiperifery, among others, are cultivated. We sell the latter, in black, red, and white varieties. An emerging country is Cameroon, where the prestigious Penja- has been produced for several decades.pepper is being renovated.

We offer the best of the continent, including three African members of the cardamom family: grains of paradise (Aframomum meleguetta), mbongo (Aframomum citratum), and kororima (Aframom corrorima).
