Puree de Piment d'Espelette is a high-quality chili paste of Piment d'Espelette. The puree is as aromatic as this exceptional pepper, spicy as the North African harissa. Contains garlic, (wine) vinegar and some salt.
This puree is made from the fiery red, ripe peppers of the Ferme Conchoinea, a plot of approximately 4 hectares located in Aïnhoa, in the French Basque Country. Only the pulp is used, first the chili peppers are blanched and peeled. The spiciness comes from the Gorria chili pepper, with 4,000 SHU on the Scoville scale comparable to a Jalapeño.

Usage
The puree is versatile, not only for tapas, but also like harissa with couscous and white meat, and on peanut butter!
