The handy, twelve-centimeter-tall Billund, like the Kalas in our range, is an inverted mill. The mill is positioned with the grinding mechanism facing upward, preventing spillage on your countertop or tablecloth. It's designed for both commercial and domestic use. A versatile mill, it can be used not only for
The grinding mechanism consists of a rotating ceramic element developed in the early 1990s by Ken Muff Larsen. CrushGrind® holds the patent for the ceramic grinding system, which is also used by many other major brands. The Billund is produced in Europe.
How the CrushGrind® Billund works
To fill the grinder, remove the silicone cap from the bottom of the grinder. The fineness of the grind adjust by turning the wheel, clockwise for a finer setting, counterclockwise for a coarser setting.
To grind, make you A rotating motion with the upper part. A short stroke, a back-and-forth motion, will suffice.
Cleaning
If you want to change spices, grind some coarse (sea) salt to clean the ceramic part. Loosening the wheel that adjusts the grind will release the grinding mechanism, should you wish to clean it.
Ideally, do this with a stiff, dry brush; even cleaning with water is fine. Before doing so, read the instructions on the CrushGrind website. Make sure the mechanism is completely dry before using the grinder again! The drying time is at least 24 hours.

Material
The Billund is clearly inspired by Lego minifigures, the name is derived from the place where the official Lego park is located, the Danish Billund.
The playful design is made with a biocomposite material containing cellulose fibers from certified wood—primarily conifers—harvested from sustainably managed forests. It has a low CO2 footprint, unlike biomaterials made from edible crops. The biocomposite used for the Billund does not compete with the food production chain.
The biocomposite is based on almost 100% renewable materials with two main components:
- cellulose fibers,
- liquid rosin (called tall oil), a residue from pulp production
Warranty
