Advieh khoresh(t) is a spice mixture used in Iranian stews. Adviehs—such as advieh berenj (for rice) and this advieh khoresh—are classic Persian spice blends.
In most parts of Iran, the term khoresh or khoresht refers to a stew, although in Sassanian, the precursor language of Persian, the word means sauce. You'll find the term in vain in cookbooks from before the seventeenth century. Stews were called ghaliyeh called, Arabic for stew. This name is still used on the Persian Gulf coast for stewed fish dishes; elsewhere, the term khoresh is used, with or without the 't'.
Khoresh is served over steamed rice, much like goulash or hachee, or eaten with bread. A khoresh is by definition thick, but without the use of flour. One of the most famous khoresh dishes is khoresh-e-beh, a lamb and quince stew. Many khoresh recipes use fruits such as unripe plums, unripe (sour) grapes or verjuice, pomegranate, citrus fruits, and even rhubarb.
In The legendary cuisine of Persia Margaret Shaida gives the following classic recipe for this mixture:
- coriander seeds
- cinnamon
- turmeric
- cumin seeds
- caraway seeds
- green cardamom
- black
pepper - cloves and
- nutmeg

Our packaging
Our packaging
We supply this product in a practical 128ml twist-off jar (clear glass) and in bags. For smaller quantities, we use laminated stand-up pouches with a ziplock closure, made of PET and PE. The bag is approximately 90% recyclable and can be collected with your plastic waste.
Our two-layer bio-based kraft bags consist of A layer of 60-gram kraft paper and 80-micron PLA plastic. This bag is 100% biodegradable and can be placed in the green bin.
We use our aluminum bags for packaging larger quantities. These three-layer bags are made of laminated 12 micron PET, 7 micron aluminum and 60 micron PE. This combination makes it impossible to fully recycle the bags. These bags should be disposed of with other waste.
The test tubes are made of PS plastic, have a diameter of 16 millimeters, and a length of 100 millimeters. The caps are made of LDPE.
