Bahārāt is a spice mixture used in the Middle East as well as in other Arab cuisines, including North Africa.
It is believed that bahārāt originated because the nomadic Bedouin people, whenever they encountered new herbs and spices, supplemented their spice blends with them. Consequently, there is no single bahārāt, but rather many variations of this spice blend circulate throughout the Arab world, each with a slightly different flavor, but essentially containing the same ingredients. A related blend is fulful bhrat, which is used in the preparation of kibbeh.
The mixture is typical of the entire Mashriq, the Arabic-speaking countries east of Libya, and of Turkish and Kurdish cuisine. Beyond that, we see a simple Bahārāt in Tunisia, one of the countries in the Maghreb, which consists only of dried rose buds, cinnamon and black
In Turkey, bahārāt is used to season kofte and pilafs, and mint is added for this reason. In the countries bordering the Persian Gulf, saffron and dried black lime (loomi) are also added.
The following ingredients are used in a bahārāt:
- pul biber
- black
pepper and/or - long
pepper - coriander seeds
- clove
- allspice
- cinnamon
- green cardamom
- rose petals

Our packaging
Our packaging
We supply this product in a practical 128ml twist-off jar (clear glass) and in bags. For smaller quantities, we use laminated stand-up pouches with a ziplock closure, made of PET and PE. The bag is approximately 90% recyclable and can be collected with your plastic waste.
Our two-layer bio-based kraft bags consist of A layer of 60-gram kraft paper and 80-micron PLA plastic. This bag is 100% biodegradable and can be placed in the green bin.
We use our aluminum bags for packaging larger quantities. These three-layer bags are made of laminated 12 micron PET, 7 micron aluminum and 60 micron PE. This combination makes it impossible to fully recycle the bags. These bags should be disposed of with other waste.
The test tubes are made of PS plastic, have a diameter of 16 millimeters, and a length of 100 millimeters. The caps are made of LDPE.
