Puree de Piment d'Espelette is a high-quality chili paste from Piment d'Espelette. The puree is as aromatic as this exceptional pepper, spicy as the North African harissa. Contains garlic, (wine) vinegar and some salt.
This jelly is made from the bright red, ripe peppers of the Ferme Conchoinea, a plot of approximately 4 hectares located in Aïnhoa, in the French Basque Country. Only the pulp is used, first the chili peppers are blanched and their skins removed. The pungency comes from the Gorria chili pepper, with 4,000 SHU on the Scoville scale comparable to a Jalapeño.

Use
The puree is versatile, can not only be used with tapas, but also like harissa with couscous and white meat, and on peanut butter!
General advice
- keep the chilli puree in the original packaging, closed and out of direct sunlight;
- after opening, the puree can be kept for 1 month, if stored in a refrigerator between 3 and 5° C
