Collection: Our tail <tc>pepper</tc>s

The most famous, But not the only tailed pepper is the Indonesian cubeb or cubeb pepper (Piper cubebe), a "true" pepper from the Piperaceae family. Other, lesser-known tailed peppers from this family include the – quite rare – Voatsiperifery (Piper borbonense) from Madagascar or Réunion and the Ashanti pepper or Benin pepper (Piper guineense). Also from Africa. The latter is a less bitter substitute for cubeb pepper, ideal for use in sweet dishes such as speculaas and pepernoten.
